What is Skype?

Skype is probably the word that first got you intrigued about VoIP. It's a bit like Napster in the way it has spread around the internet. I guess it's one of those killer apps that just takes off.

Skype is a 3rd party Voice over IP application that enables you to speak freely to other people around the world that also have Skype installed. If you are familiar with Microsoft Messenger then you will feel at home with Skype, it's a similar looking application. Even if you're not then Skype is dead easy to use.

VOIPFAQ.net highly recommend that you try Skype out for your first steps into the world of VoIP. It's probably the best, most used and supported free product out there at the moment so you won't go far wrong.

Try it out
